December Special Offering: Hyde Park and Kenwood Interfaith Council
The Interfaith Council is an association of congregations, religious, and spiritual bodies founded in 1911. They hold the annual Thanksgiving service at Rockefeller Chapel and the offering from that service goes to fund their hunger programs at various churches. They also support the Hyde Park Refugee Project which help refugee families with housing and tutoring their children. Use the white offering envelope in the pew to enclose your offering and check the special offering box.
The Contemporary Issues church school class which meets each Sunday at 9:30 is beginning a new book. We are reading the current One Book One Chicago selection The Sixth Extinction. As stewards of God’s world, what is our responsibility? We welcome everyone to join us to discuss this important topic. For more information see Ann Audrain
Experiencing/Sharing God’s Love : Donations of Hat, Socks, Gloves, and Coats
With the month of Thanksgiving upon us, and in the spirit of giving in response for all we have received, we kindly request donations of new hats and gloves and new or gently used scarves and coats. For more information see Pam Thomas or Suneeta Brooker-Solesi.
