January 16 – Caregivers Group
Senior Hub Caregivers Group meets at 11am. All ages are welcome.
MLK Day of Service – Each year, Martin Luther King Junior’s birthday is commemorated on the third Monday of January. Some people use it as a time to catch their breath after being back at work for a few weeks after the holidays. Some churches use it as a day for their youth groups to go snow skiing or on retreats of various kinds. The day has been set aside as a day of service—a day to take on something to help other people, not just time to take a day off.
The Presbytery of Chicago is encouraging every one of our congregations to find a way to address the issue of hunger.
Set aside some time that day to address the issue of hunger. Take pictures; write a little report about what you did. Send those pictures and your stories to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can feature them at the February presbytery meeting. We will be able to see how much we can do when we gather our efforts together.
There’s still time to donate warm accessories for those who are served at the Open Breakfast.
Throughout the Winter season bring new socks, mittens, gloves, and scarves. A donation box is on the information table in the sanctuary
